Mikrosvín Mikulov

Wineries living their own natural lives can be found in a more than idyllic environment. They are located in the heart of the Pavlov protected area and biosphere reserve and the adjacent Dunajovice Hills. Our wine making philosophy is based on not overloading the grapevines, a considerate approach to nature and a maximum reduction in chemical inputs. “We make wine in the vineyard”. Everything begins and ends in the vineyard. The personal approach of the people producing our wines extremely important. The vineyards are often located in places where the use of machines in the worst weather gets very difficult and at this point irreplaceable human hands come into play. Our beautiful vineyards are located in the surrounding municipalities of Dobré Pole, Březí, Dolní Dunajovice and Mikulov.

History teaches us that Sonberk was planted with grapevines as far back as the 13th century and gives us the famous wines thanks to its ideal location on slopes with a southern exposure. In the 16th century wine from the foot of Slunečná hill had such a quality and reputation that it was sought after by the Czech king and the Margrave of Moravia Ludvíkem Jagellonský. There is a preserved written record from 1522, in which the King requested Brno city council on the second day of August 1522 that “six Drajlinkuov wines good and delicious to drink” be sent to him and his wife via his valet, for which they should be paid by the local “tax, which is permitted by you in this very same Margraviate”.
